The weekly intro to The Grieving Room always recognizes that some members of the community are grieving family and friends who died in uniform.
If you have someone you would like to acknowledge for Memorial Day, TGR offers this space to do so.
You can mention a name, share a memory, post a photo, poem or song—anything that honors the person you are holding on your heart today.
In writing this I realized that while I have veterans in my family, they all served and came home.
I have no memory of anyone receiving the dreaded telegram or letter, or seeing the two uniformed visitors at the door. I have no idea what that particular grief is like.
My heart goes out to those of you who do.
