I happen to live by a large lake that has become a larger and larger attraction, which means more boats on the lake. I also happen to live close to a facility that celebrates cars flying around an asphalt track at speeds ranging from 150 - 180 MPH. I find it ironic that we celebrate the outdoors with events that pollute the very environment we're hoping to enjoy.
There are two races occurring this weekend. One in Charlotte and one in Indianapolis, both have smaller events occurring around them, and all these events revolve around the internal combustion engine. A technology that is well over 100 years old now, and we've barely made a dent in improving how it works and how that effects the our environment.
Have a great Summer and have a great Memorial Day weekend!
