The grandmother of someone important to me passed away on April 19th, in a nursing home on Long Island. As you might surmise, she died from complications of COVID-19 and, as has become the norm, she was isolated from those that loved her. Notwithstanding the separation required by the virus, her family was as present as safety restrictions allowed. A smart, strong, loving family that could, and did, advocate for their Nonna. Still, this happened.
