C'mon Floriduh

There is a modicum of good news in Florida.  The judges seem to be ready to scrap the whole poll tax idea as Orwellian and so two centuries ago.  Most of the competitive elections are now actually being contested by Democrats which can increase our turnout in red areas.  But the best news is that it has been pouring not quite non-stop for a few days surrounding the Memorial Day Weekend.  It’s not supposed to really let up until maybe Friday due to some early tropical storm (totally not Global Warming related, right Don?) activity.  The smell of barbecues with Cows roasting over an open flame was missing all weekend long.  And the newly reopened beaches were only for those doubly unwary of either the pandemic thingee or the risk of incineration by lightning.  And who wants to go out shopping or getting a hair buzz when all that 3-5 inches of precipitation are likely to streak the pomade and drench the F-150s precious cargo of the Dollar Tree’s entire toilet paper supply?!  Sometimes being able to watch the rain irrigate the Victory Garden is more fun than being jostled by gun toting Magats at the local depressingly vacant looking mall anyway.  Just maybe, the senior citizen’s well-honed instinct for survival and a little help from Mom Nature  will mitigate the spread of #Trumpvirus at least in the (more important) southeast corner of Florida. <obvious snark>
