For God and Country Patriot Roundup is coming to Dallas on Memorial Day weekend — and it’s a real QAnon Con!
That’s bad. My hometown is hosting what the FBI calls ‘domestic extremists’ prone to violence and considered a domestic terrorism threat— and that was before January 6th.
Speakers at the event include inciters such as:
- Disgraced former National Security Advisor, General Michael Flynn who pled guilty to "willfully and knowingly" making "false, fictitious and fraudulent statements" to the FBI . Following the 2020 elections Flynn tweeted a call to: "declare limited Martial Law to temporarily suspend the Constitution and civilian control of these federal elections." He attended the January 6th rally which turned into insurrection.
- Sidney Powell, an attorney associated with the Trump campaign who pushed the "fraudulent election" lie which precipitated the January 6th insurrection. Powell is facing a $2.3 billion lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems for defamation.
You know what’s worse?
The hotel hosting the convention is the City of Dallas owned Omni Dallas Hotel. The same hotel that declined to use its iconic LED lighted facade to display to say “Black Lives Matter”in the wake of the murder of George Floyd.
Well, at least the Kay Bailey Hutchison convention center next door to the Omni Dallas Hotel isn’t filled with thousands of immigrant children … oh, wait. It is. There are 1,500 undocumented immigrant children just next door … and more expected to arrive.
The actual conference will take place at Gilley’s Dallas Event Venues — walking distance from the hotel and the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
What could possibly go wrong?
As a resident of the Dallas metroplex, I see this as a danger to citizens and visitors of Dallas. The potential for violence will increase significantly. White supremacists will flock to Dallas to participate. People of Color in downtown and nearby areas will be endangered — as will the immigrant children.
I have no desire to hinder the First Amendment rights of conference attendees. But I don’t want the city owned hotel to host violent extremist organizations. With regard to Gilley’s — it is perfectly okay to use free market pressure to ask them to not host violent extremists.
WE CAN STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING AND HERE IS HOW:
▶︎ Share this post on social media. Use hashtags: #nohateindallas, #nodallasQcon.
▶︎ Use these talking points for all outreach:
Demand they not host the 'For God & Country Patriot Roundup' over Memorial Day weekend. This is a PUBLIC SAFETY issue - speakers and attendees are affiliated with QAnon and the violent assault on the capitol on January 6th. We don't want violence and racism in Dallas!!!
Inform them the FBI has recognized QAnon as "domestic extremists' and speakers have called for "Martial Law to temporarily suspend the Constitution and civilian control." These people brought violence and murder to the United States Capitol. They are NOT welcome in Dallas!!!
ASK what preparations and extra security measures have been planned should this event take place!
ASK what will be done to protect the immigrant children housed at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center next door!
