I stumbled onto this thread on Twitter a few weeks ago, and immediately decided that I would steal it for my post on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. It seems to me to express precisely what we should all keep in our minds and our hearts on Memorial Day. Be prepared to shed a tear to two.
[While I should not inject politics into this thread, I nonetheless wonder how anyone with the proper sentiment on Memorial Day could vote for a man who likes Nazis, who lied to avoid military service, who calls those who serve and die for their country “suckers” and “losers,” or who would refuse to honor U. S. war dead in order to keep his hair dry.]
