The sacrifices our men and women in uniform have made for our nation transcend politics and ideologies. They don’t get to decide whether to head into battle. But whether noble or (tragically more often) folly, it is they who pay the price. Either way, they deserve our profound admiration and respect. I consider serving alongside some of these among my life’s proudest moments.
